Annual Canoe + Paddle Trip (Photos)
WOW - what a beautiful night on the water. Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Annual Canoe + Paddle Trip on September 11. We had a couple dozen canoes, kayaks, inflatables, and standup paddle boards meandering along the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail on one of the most perfect, sunny paddle nights of the year (almost no wind). We started at Munger Landing at the new sandy kayak landing and headed halfway around Clough Island.
Thank you to Jack and Bill, our long and trusty SLRA volunteers and past board members for helping pickup and deliver the canoes from UMD. Thank you to UMD Recreational Sports Outdoor Program for being a great partner and providing the gear for those who didn't have their own. Thank you to everyone who joined us, new and returning. And to our rock star SLRA staff for putting these events together.
Last but certainly not least, thank you to the City of Duluth via the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund for the generous financial support to put on the event.
