During our Annual Membership Meeting, the Alliance will share updates on the current state of the organization, what we're working on, upcoming event details and more! Margie will then present ‘Birding on the National Water Trail’, highlighting the incredible migrations that come through Duluth. She will be focusing on the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail and give you expert advice on where and what you can see and hear while enjoying the River this spring, summer and fall.

You don't have to be a Member to attend the Membership Meeting! This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Alliance and how you can get involved.

Our Annual Member Meeting will be combined with our second installment of 'Water Wednesdays', a series of talks and events revolving around stewardship of the land and our beloved River. Held the 4th Wednesday of each month, March-August.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:

Margie Menzies: one part educator, one part naturalist, and one part bird nerd! Who says slow and steady wins the race? After years in the formal classroom, this educator has abandoned the indoors for the great outdoor classroom. Margie joined the Hawk Ridge staff as a Naturalist in 2011 and currently is the Education Program Director for Hawk Ridge. Providing educational programming for the general public furnishes many colorful and meaningful experiences with every day on the job. She loves birds, learning, and sharing the natural world with people of all ages. Banding songbirds is a passion for Margie, she bands at Hawk Ridge during migration and with three MAPS stations studying summer breeding birds at Hawk Ridge, Wolf Ridge, and Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center. She has a BA in Biology from Bethel University, and a MA in Education from University of St. Thomas. She is also an adjunct member of the University of Minnesota, Duluth Education Department working primarily with student teacher supervision.
