Winter Walk on the Waabizheshikana Trail (Photos)

Thank you to everyone who joined us on our Winter Walk, as a part of the Winter Out West weekend! We had a beautiful, warm stroll on the Waabizheshikana Trail, and a great opportunity to learn about some of the clean up projects happening along the river.

This event was one of six total River Connection events that the St. Louis River Alliance is hosting in the neighborhoods alongside the St. Louis River. We are eager to learn more about what activities people like to do on the river, what barriers are in the way of using the river and what the community wants to see in the future.

Thank you to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative for the funding to make these events possible!

**Our next River Connection event will be hosted at Morgan Park Community Center on Tuesday, February 21st from 5:30-6:30 p.m. We will be providing sandwiches and drinks, as well as Super One gift cards for attendees who fill out our River Connections survey and live in one of the 18 focus neighborhoods along the river. This event is free and open to the public; no registration necessary.

River neighborhoods include: Carlton, Cloquet, Cody, Denfeld, Fairmont, Fond du Lac Reservation, Fond du Lac neighborhood, Gary-New Duluth, Irving, Lincoln Park, Morgan Park, Norton Park, Oneota, Riverside, Scanlon, Smithville, Spirit Valley, Thomson.
