Thank you to all of the University of Minnesota Duluth students that helped clean up the #PipingPlover habitat site on Wisconsin Point on August 29th, 2021.

The incoming freshman helped pull and bag invasive weeds, haul and stack driftwood, and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine!

This work will help create a more favorable habitat for the endangered Piping Plover. Piping Plovers require a clean, sandy beach with scattered pebbles and stones.

By cleaning up the driftwood, we took away hiding/perch spots for predators such as eagles, vultures and fox.

Thank you students and welcome to your new home!
