St. Louis River Area of Concern Updates (Grassy Point)
Grassy Point was home to two sawmills in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is working to clean up large expanses of thick wood waste that continue to impair aquatic habitat. Through this clean-up effort, the MN DNR will create shallow sheltered bays and restore valuable wetland habitat.
