Volunteer Opportunity! Join Project Leader Mikayla Erickson, and a small group of Master Naturalists on Sunday, August 25th from 1:00-3:00 PM for a volunteer cleanup day on the Piping Plover Wildlife Sanctuary at Wisconsin Point.
We will be handling non-local invasive species such as tansy, and clearing the Piping Plover’s nesting area free of unwanted vegetation. Mikayla will be also be giving a complete site tour and will also speak on the improvements made from 2023.
Gloves, buckets and contracting bags will be provided. Please bring your own equipment/materials if you have them. No prior experience needed; safety and plant identification will be instructed. We will be bending, pulling, and digging. Come as long or as little as you'd like. More hands, and more smiles make for easier work!
Participants are encouraged to email projectleader@stlouisriver.org if they are interested in lending a hand.
