Paddle Trip Planning + Navigation on the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail

  • Bagley Classroom 623 Oakland Circle Duluth, MN, 55811 United States (map)

While the river may be frozen now, winter is the ideal season to research, organize, and prepare for a St. Louis River adventure! Join the St. Louis River Alliance and UMD’s Recreational Sports Outdoor Program (RSOP) for an exciting Paddle Trip Planning + Navigation Event on February 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the Bagley Classroom (623 Oakland Cir, Duluth, MN 55811).

Whether you're a seasoned paddler or a first-time explorer, this event will cover essential topics such as route selection, access points, gear recommendations, safety tips, and wind and weather considerations. All participants will be provided a free St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail map to follow along with as we practice navigating with a compass. Collectively we will fill out a float plan and discuss the importance of flexibility when planning a safe paddle trip.

Don't miss this opportunity to get ready for your next river adventure—come prepared with questions, and leave with a solid plan for your next trip on the water!

This event is free but registration is necessary. Space is limited, so please only register if you know you can attend. Register at: https://forms.gle/BTsknfkgbMSpDbqB6

This event is made possible through generous financial support from the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR), in partnership with the City of Duluth.
