The Expedition: In 2014 Arctic adventurer Paul Schurke retraced President Theodore Roosevelt's historic 1914 descent of the mythical River of Doubt, the last great river to be added to the map of the western hemisphere. The rigors of that Amazon trek - illness, insects, starvation - nearly cost Roosevelt his life. Through slides and film clips, Schurke will share tales from his trek 100 years later, its epic parallels with Roosevelt's first descent of this 1000 mile river, and anecdotes from the life of one of Amerca's most remarkable presidents. Presentation begins at 7 pm.
