2019 SLRA Annual Canoe Trip & Picnic

The St. Louis River Alliance is hosting it’s Annual Canoe Trip & Picnic on Saturday, August 10th. Our paddle tour will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., dropping in at Chambers Grove, followed by a picnic lunch from 11:30 to 1 p.m. This is a great opportunity for both experienced and non-experienced canoeists to explore the beautiful river!

**The event will be held rain or shine. However, if the conditions are unsafe we will cancel.

CANOE PADDLE REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Canoes, paddles and PFD’s will be available for registered people who do not have their own. All participants must RSVP and pay by August 8th at 4 p.m. There will be experts to speak on river safety, canoe basics and location information. The tour will begin at Chambers Grove.

**Bring your own canoe or kayak if possible!


COST:
St. Louis River Alliance Members: $5.00 per person, $20 for whole family.
Non-Members: $10 per person, $30 for whole family.
Children under 12 are free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

***If you do not wish to pay the online processing fee, please stop in at the St. Louis River Alliance Office [394 Lake Ave. S – Suite 321] to register and pay your dues by August 8 at 4 p.m.

COMMUNITY PICNIC INFORMATION: A picnic lunch will be served at Chambers Grove at the end of the tour, the lunch is a part of your registration fee.

PARKING: Park in Chambers Grove Parking Lot [13404 MN-23, Duluth, MN 55808] or off the side of the street leading into the park. There will be volunteers in orange vests to direct boat loading and parking. Please carpool if possible!

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Appropriate clothing and layers for weather
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Something to sit on for picnic
  • WE ARE TRYING SOMETHING NEW THIS YEAR: In order to reduce consumables, we welcome you to bring your own eating utensils and plates. (Compostable options will be available if needed)
