The Alliance is seeking individuals and groups to come together for the River at this annual event to be held Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 am to 12:00 in the Superior Municipal Forest near the Archery Range.
The St. Louis River Alliance will hold its annual river cleanup on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 -12:00.
Volunteers can show up at the Archery Range in the Superior Municipal Forest. There will be someone there to indicate parking area. Driving directions from Duluth: Take the Bong Bridge to Superior and follow HWY 2 to Elmira Avenue to 42nd St. Parking will be at the Archery Range. From Superior: Follow Elmira Avenue to 42nd st to the Archery Range Parking area.
Volunteers may sign up for one, two or three hours The city of Superior will be providing gloves, bags, buckets and litter pickers and pick up of the garbage. Drinking water will be provided. Hip boots are recommended for those who wish to tackle the removal of items from the water near shore. Please dress appropriately for the weather and the job!
Interested individuals and organizations may contact the St. Louis River Alliance to find out more about volunteering for this cleanup effort. Monetary donations are also being accepted to help with the costs at our office address.
